First Annual Maple Grove Days
When: Saturday July 12, 2008 at 6:00 pm
Where: City of Maple Grove Government Center
Info: 100% of money raised benefits the 40 Winks Foundation. 40 Winks donates beds in the Twin Cities to Bridging, Inc, St. Anne’s Place, World Relief of Minnesota, Union Gospel Mission, and Tubman Family Alliance.
Teams of five are invited to race a bed (with mattress for all beds provided by Slumberland Furniture) at the Maple Grove Government Center. All racers are guaranteed a minimum of two races. Racers will be judged on best costume, best bed design, best youth group, best over “40” years, and the races are double eliminations.
A minimun donation of $100 per team in advance is requested. Pledges are requested and the highest pledge turned in by one team will be awarded with prizes.

Karl Oscar Days
When: July 9th-13th, 2008
Where: Lindstrom, MN
Info: Come celebrate the unique heritage of the St. Croix Valley and the uniqueness of downtown Lindstrom. There will be a Snuff Box Treasure Hunt, music, family games and other exciting events throughout the weekend. JACK will be at the Karl Oscar Grande Day Parade on Saturday, July 12th at 6pm. The entire weekend will end with the Best Fireworks Ever at 10pm on Sunday night.

JACK Presents the Labor Neighborhood Block Party!

Info: Join in on the fun at St. Croix Falls for Wannigan Days...there’s tons going on and it’s all 50’s themed! The R Factor is playing on Friday, July 18th at 9PM and you can’t miss out. Besides spotting Elvis there will also be a classic car show on Saturday, July 19th starting at noon followed by a huge 50’s themed parade afterwards at 5PM. Also on Saturday is a huge tug-of-war contest across the St. Croix River! If that’s not enough 50’s style fun then stay afterwards for an outdoor movie, fireworks and more! The Most Amazing Race
You won’t be racing around the world, but you’ll have just as much fun. The MOST Amazing Race is a Salvation Army event in which teams of two battle for a $5,000 grand prize by completing physical and mental challenges across Minneapolis.
Last year’s teams found themselves climbing a rock wall, making salsa, canoeing Lake Harriet and grooving to Dance Dance Revolution. It's been a highlight of the Minneapolis Aquatennial for decades, tens of thousands of spectators will view the two-hour procession as it travels down Hennepin Avenue from Dunwoody Institute to the end at Fifth and Hennepin. Grab your family, your lawn chair and practice your wave.

Xcel Energy River Blast and Target Fireworks Show

Info: Join JACK for the Xcel Energy River Blast! The city of Minneapolis was born along the Mississippi River and the Xcel Energy River Blast celebrates our city's rich history. Come and experience live music, family friendly activities and the beauty of the Minneapolis riverfront!
Then starting at 10pm enjoy the Target Fireworks Show. The largest of its kind west of the Mississippi. The fireworks will be set off from the 3rd Street Bridge making the best spot for viewing them near St. Anthony Main and the Lock and Dam along the river banks. As part of its commitment to the community, Target is sponsoring the fantastic fireworks display for all to enjoy.
